Good
afternoon
Producer
Dinesh Bansal (of Meteor Films) must be quite happy
now. Probably that's why he's off on a month long
holiday to London. While his sitcom Ghar Jamai which
recently was shifted to the Sa Re Ga Ma slot is going
strong, his other serial Chingari hit the airwaves
(Zee) on Friday (2 pm). The afternoon slot seems quite
dicy especially since it's on a private channel which
caters mainly to the metros. It's being directed by
Chander Behl who had earlier directed Inteqaam, Sinhaasan
for Bansal and it stars Girish Malik, Anang Desai,
Ananth Mahadevan, Jaya Mathur, Dharmesh Tiwari, Vaishnavi,
Babloo Mukherjee and Arish Bansal (who happens to
be Dinesh Bansal's nephew).
Singing cricket
Cricket, Cricket. As the countdown begins the cricket
fever is rising and everyone around is eating and
sleeping cricket. Zee Music (the audio company of
Zee Network) has come up with an album called `It's
my game' which has eight catchy numbers composed by
Ashutosh Pathak and Dhruv Ghanarkar of Bombay Boys
fame and sung by Bhaudeep and Rags. It has some really
peppy numbers like `Cricket mein hai everything',
Jeet ke lana hai, Sachin Hamara which are quite inspiring.
The album was launched last week in Nepal where the
Seniors tournament was being played. Pakistani spinner
Abdul Qadar released and presented the cassette to
Zee, CEO Vijay Jindal.
TV
dinner
It
was celebration time for Umesh Mehta. No, it was not
the launch of any serial. Did you say Mehta who? Well,
he owns the Restaurant in Juhu called Little Italy and
he recently won the award for Best Italian Restaurant
in town. You are wondering why this is being written
about in a television column. Because the bash he had
organized at Sea View Hotel was nothing less than a
television party. Most of the celebrities were from
Telly's glamour world, like Anup Jalota, Sharad Kapoor,
Tinu Anand, Rahul Dev, Milind Soman, Anu Agarwal, Sidharth
Kak, Akshay Anand, Anubhav Sinha, Amit Behl etc. Isn't
that surprising? Later we learnt that the party was
co-hosted by tele producer Rajesh Mehta. |
